Salvini Consulting Inc. is a Kitchener-based engineering firm specializing in Transportation Engineering and Planning. The firm was incorporated in 2013 to meet a growing demand for transportation expertise in Waterloo Region and the surrounding area and serves a wide range of clients in the public and private sectors.

Our focus is on helping our clients succeed by developing transportation plans and strategies that support their needs.

Julia Salvini, President

IMG_1696_FinalJulia Salvini is an experienced transportation professional with a background in both consulting and government agency work. In the early part of her career, she worked in transportation consulting in Toronto with LEA Consulting and BA Group. Her consulting was focused on land development-related work although she also worked for many public sector clients.

Julia moved on to work with Metrolinx, the Transportation Planning Authority for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area. She joined as the agency was beginning the implementation phase of The Big Move, the Metrolinx plan for transforming transportation in the region. She took roles in developing pivotal studies in the area of Goods Movement and Mobility Hubs. She later joined the group responsible for planning the future of the GO Transit network.

Julia has significant teaching and mentoring experience. She was a Sessional Lecturer at both the University of Toronto and Ryerson University as well as serving as a guest lecturer at a number of local colleges and universities. She specializes in communicating complex technical information in a way that can be easily understood.

She is an active member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers having served in a variety of positions including Past President of the Toronto Section. She is currently the Past President of the Canadian Institute of Transportation Engineers.

Julia is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and has served as an expert Witness before the Ontario Municipal Board, the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal, and the Ontario Land Tribunal on a number of occasions.
